Bill Essayli

In 2022, Bill Essayli was elected to represent the 63rd State Assembly District, comprising of Norco, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake, and portions of Eastvale, Riverside, and Corona. Prior to his political career, Essayli served as a federal prosecutor and a Riverside County Deputy District Attorney. He currently runs a small business and is a partner at the law firm of Essayli & Brown LLP.

During his tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Central District of California, Essayli handled numerous high-profile cases, including those involving violent and organized crime, identity theft, bank fraud, securities fraud, white-collar fraud, obstruction of justice, and more. He was also responsible for advising and coordinating with federal agents on active investigations and evaluating legal issues.

One of the most significant cases he was involved in was the terrorist attack in San Bernardino in 2015. Additionally, he also successfully tried a three-week jury trial of a prominent California doctor charged with over 80 counts of unlawfully prescribing opiates, which resulted in the deaths of several patients.

Before joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Essayli served as a prosecutor at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, one of the top prosecutorial offices in the country and the third largest in California. He also worked in private practice for two years at Paul Hastings LLP, focusing on employment law.

As a long-time resident of Riverside County and the first in his family to graduate college, Essayli received his undergraduate degree from the Kellogg Honors College of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and his law degree from Chapman University School of Law. Being the son of Lebanese-American immigrants, Bill feels grateful to have achieved the American Dream.
