In 2021, Jesse Franklin-Murdock became an associate attorney at the Dhillon Law Group after serving as a clerk for U.S. District Judge Jill A. Otake in Honolulu. Jesse's areas of expertise include employment law, defamation law, and politics and election law. He is licensed to practice law in both California and Hawaii.
Prior to joining the Dhillon Law Group, Jesse began his legal career at the prestigious litigation firm, Kobayashi Sugita & Goda, LLP (KSG), where he worked on a wide range of cases representing corporations, small businesses, government officials, and individuals in both state and federal court proceedings and arbitrations. Jesse then went on to start his own law practice, where in just six months, he achieved a complete defense judgment at a bench trial, obtained a child support award for a mother before a state agency, negotiated favorable settlements for a commercial tenant and the founders of a technology startup, and successfully resolved a dispute for his clients through AAA consumer arbitration to void a contract.
Jesse graduated summa cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii. He held the position of Outside Articles Editor for the University of Hawaii Law Review and received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grades in courses such as Legal Practice I (legal writing), Real Property I and II, Business Associations, and State and Local Government and Finance. Jesse also completed externships with Senior Circuit Judge Richard R. Clifton and Chief U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright.
In addition to his legal career, Jesse is a member of the Federalist Society and has a limited working proficiency in Italian, he also has a passion for Italian culture and cuisine.
